Frozen Country
In the winter 2001/2002, the luxembourgish countryside was blessed by a rare and amazing weather. Typically for winter time, the temperature felt far below zero degrees Celsius. But, what is more uncommon, even at noon the cold kept Luxembourg deeply frozen. And despite the preceding snowfalls, there was absolutely no cloud in the sky.
White plains, a dark blue sky and a bright sun transformed the country into a picturesque landscape. Even early in the morning a wonderful spectacle awaited the awakening Grand Duchy. The people who took the highway (direction Luxembourg city) will always remember it. Shimmering white trees raising into a dark blue sky, and over it all, the moon, followed by a rising sun.
Although I did not have the chance to take a lot of pictures, I managed to catch some impressions from Wasserbillig. Unfortunately, my work did not allow me to take a day off. All pictures shown here were taken with a Canon Ixus II on a Kodak ISO 200 film.
